In June 2016, along with Christopher Halladay, James L. Menzies, & W. Tré Davis, I founded FIG Productions in order to pursue theatre that challenges theatre. In June 2017, in The Theatre at 30th Street, we mounted our first production of Jamie's play Go Get the Axe.
The process of working on this play actually began in 2016, we initiated a series of three private readings of the play with varied casts to allow Mr. Menzies the opportunity to experience the play and go through a revision process. In February 2017, we began holding production meetings with some very talented designers: Susanne Houstle (costumes), Stacey Derosier (lights), Andrew Moerdyk (sets), Santiago Orjuela-Laverde (sets), Ian Friedman (video), and Drew Nungesser (sound). These discussions on the concepts and designs for the play were particularly amazing and had a huge impact on the playwright, ultimately resulting in revisions in the script.
